I’ve Found A New Farm :)
My New Farm!
Dearest Farm-ily,
It is with great excitement, and much joy that I am letting you all know that after a 10 month long search, I have found a long-term, collaborative situation for me, with a home, to move Lifeforce Farm too :))
The property is located in Chillingham, outside of Murwillumbah, and also the home of Scott Hall's operation - Gabalah Syntropic Agroforestry Farm. I met Scott in January of this year to talk about more ways that we could co-operate and support each other as small scale farms in the region.
We found we had similar goals, and visions.
Over the past 2 weeks a cottage unexpectedly became available on Scott's property with a paddock available for me to farm! Having another farm to work with to share infrastructure, sales and distribution with has been my vision for a long time, and I am super excited to have the opportunity to ground this into reality.
So, I am beginning to mobilise now...(I've lived in Byron Shire for 17 years)...for the move to Tweed Shire, I'll be located there from the 1st June.
My goal is to be back in production by Spring, which will give me time to settle into my new life, and re-build my farm. I'm keen to get growing again, it has been great to rest, I really did need it, yet I am not the kind of personality that can do nothing for long :)
Scott is an expert in Syntropic Agroforestry, 4th generation Grain Farmer, and Wholistic Management Consultant, with extensive agricultural experience. My production system is based on the European bio-intensive organic market farms, so we are also really looking forward to finding ways to enhance, and gain new insights for our respective production systems.
I'll be taking a break from growing seedlings whilst I am setting up my new farm, so I'll be selling the rest of my stock over the next 2 weeks in Mullumbimby. Come and get them, before I leave!
I feel excited for this move, it has taken much faith, trust and persistence on my part. Yet, I am feeling very grateful, to have the opportunity to do what I love again, which is growing for my community.
