Flower Farming

Bee Friendly Blooms

By purchasing organic, locally grown flowers, you are supporting farmers in providing safe and sustainable food sources for bees and other pollinators.

These seasonal flowers are grown locally over shorter periods, without the use of chemicals, and travel shorter distances. By choosing these farm flowers, you are helping to promote sustainable farming practices, protect the environment, and support the health and wellbeing of bees and other pollinators.

So, always ask, โ€œWhere are these flowers grown, and how?โ€.

Commercial flower crops require a significant amount of pesticides, water, and chemical fertilizers, with nearly 80% of commercial flowers containing substances that are toxic to bees.

The floristry industry, which is among the most damaging to our environment and society worldwide, has led to the use of chemicals in many flowers that are imported and sold in Australia from countries such as South America, Kenya, Ethiopia, Holland, and China. Pesticides from these countries have contaminated the soil and water, and farm laborers are often exposed to these chemicals without protective clothing and receive low wages and poor working conditions.
