What's Community Supported Agriculture?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a revolutionary farming model that allows individuals and families to pay for a discontinued share of the harvest ahead of the growing season when the farmer needs the money for expense like seeds, soil amendments, potting soil, and greenhouse firewood. A share means that each member will be able to come to the farm, starting in June and pickup freshly harvested and washed organic produce as the season changes. This direct link between the farmer and the eater means that I can better grow the food for the people that I know and the consumer can see the farm and know that I am growing food in ways that are both economically and environmentally sustainable. Reestablishing the local food economy never tasted so good!

How Do The Shares Work?

  • Choose the share that you would like to purchase.
  • Fill out the contract and mail it to the farm.
  • You will be contacted as the season approaches concerning the details the pick-up schedule. Typically, the schedule is for pickups at the farm on Tuesdays and Fridays.
  • Each week for the duration of the share, the farm will be open for share holder pick-up. You will find your produce in the shareholders shed. Your produce will have been picked fresh that day and washed for your convenience.
  • From time to time, seasonal offering such as fresh-picked organic strawberries, apples and local, organic beef and pork will be available for an additional charge. There are also fresh, organic duck eggs available at the farm. You can call anytime to find out more about these offerings.
